Accounts

To open the Accounts page: From the Email menu, click Email preferences. Click External accounts from the action menu.

From the Accounts page you can manage any email accounts you access in the program. The currently set up accounts and their settings are displayed in the list.

Note: You cannot use this system to access Web-based email systems such as AOL or Hotmail. You can only use it with POP3 type email accounts.

Adding a new account:

To add a new account:

  1. Click Add a new account from the action menu.

  2. The Add a new account pop-up window opens.

  3. Enter your POP3 server name and Port (if required).

  4. Note: If you do not know this information, contact your email service provider.

  5. Enter your Username and Password.

  6. By default, email from your POP3 server is placed into the My email Inbox. If you want  the email to be placed into a different folder, select it from the Move to folderdrop-down list box. If you want to set up a new folder for this, click Create folder. The Create folder dialog box appears. Type a name for the new folder and click OK.

  7. Select the Leave mail on server check box if you want to leave your email messages on the POP3 server after you have downloaded them.

  8. Select the Only get new mail check box to download only new email messages from the POP3 server.

  9. Click OK.

Viewing or editing an account:

To view or edit an account:

  1. To view or change settings for an account, select an account from the list and click View or edit from the action menu.

  2. The View or edit account pop-up window opens.

  3. View or edit your POP3 server name and Port (if required).

  4. Note: If you do not know this information, contact your email service provider.

  5. View or edit your Username and Password.

  7. Clear the Leave mail on server check box if you do not want to leave your email messages on the POP3 server after you have downloaded them.

  8. Clear the Only get new mail check box to download all email messages from the POP3 server.

  9. Click OK.

Deleting an account

To delete an account:

  1. To remove an email account from the program, select an account from the list and click Delete from the action menu.

  2. When the Delete account dialog box appears, click Yes to confirm deletion.
