There are two ways to insert pictures into an email message:
insert a picture directly from your hard drive into the body of your email.
insert a picture merge code into the body of your email or template to merge the specified picture when printing or sending the email (only available when creating/editing email templates or sending mass email).
To insert a picture from a file into the email message:
Click the Insert picture from file toolbar icon.
NOTE: This function is only available in HTML mode and supports the following file formats: .gif; .jpeg; .jpg; or .png.
The Insert picture pop-up window opens.
In the Picture source text box, specify the path of the image file; or click the Browse link to open the Select file pop-up window.
Navigate to the picture file location on your computer, then click Open.
In the Alternate text field, type a text string that will appear in lieu of the picture, should the email recipient not be able to view the inserted picture image.
Select the Show advanced options check box to display the rest of the options available on the pop-up window. If the check box is NOT selected, the Layout, Dimensions, and Spacing sections will be hidden from view.
Continue with step 5 below for information on working with the layout, dimensions and spacing.
To insert a picture merge code into the email message:
Click the Insert picture merge code link at the bottom of the Mass email page (or from the New email template or View or edit template pages in the Email library).
The Insert picture merge code pop-up window opens.
NOTE: When working with a picture merge code, the Picture source field is NOT available.
Click the Select merge code link to open the pick list.
Click the Select category drop-down list and highlight a corresponding merge code from the list, for example [Property.map_city]. Click OK.
The Alternate text field automatically displays the selected merge code. Accept this as your text string or change the text to something more descriptive should the recipient NOT be able to view the picture.
Select the Show advanced options check box to display the rest of the options available on the pop-up window. If the check box is NOT selected, the Layout, Dimensions, and Spacing sections will be hidden from view.
Click the Alignment drop-down list and select the type of alignment option you want for the picture: Baseline (default), Left, Right, Top, Middle, or Bottom. For more information on aligning a picture, click here.
Specify (in pixels), the thickness of the border around the picture by typing in the Border thickness text box. The allowable range is from 0-500 pixels.
In the Dimension section:
If you select the Actual size option, the Width and Height settings (in pixels) of the picture are displayed.
If you select the Custom size option, you can specify new custom Width and Height settings (in pixels) for the picture.
In the Spacing section:
Specify (in pixels) the amount of space across the top and bottom of the picture in the Vertical text box. The allowable range is from 0-500 pixels.
Specify (in pixels) the amount of space along the left and right sides of the picture in the Horizontal text box. The allowable range is from 0-500 pixels.
Click OK.
