After installing and configuring the Outlook Connector, the messaging options within Top Producer 7i/8i will appear to be unchanged. The difference will appear when you go to compose email messages from anywhere except the "mass email" section of Top Producer 7i/8i.
When working in an account that is equipped with an Outlook Connector license, requesting a "compose email" service launches the local computer's default email application rather than the My Email feature in 7i or the Inbox feature in 8i. In the case of Outlook Connector users, this application will be Microsoft Outlook.
Once you have composed your message in Outlook, you have the option of sending the message two different ways:
Using the Outlook Connector Send and Copy to TP button to send the message to its recipients and send a copy of the email to the contact's history in 7i, or the contact record's Activities tab in 8i.
Using the normal Outlook Send function. A copy of the email will not be added to the contact history in 7i, or the contact record's Activities tab in 8i.
